Since 2008, CCP HVAC have been servicing and maintaining 32 air-conditioning units in South Kensington. The prestige nature of these apartments meant that the property owners expected a high level of performance and service from the units and from the suppliers and service teams. The air conditioning systems that had been installed were running on R22 refrigeration. Due to a change in government regulations, CCP HVAC had to design and replace the equipment. One of the main problems was that the residents did not want to replace the existing indoor fan coils.
CCP HVAC advised the client of the new R22 regulations and in 2012 it was decided that the air-conditioning equipment would be replaced. Working with the manufacturer Daikin, CCP HVAC created a series of schematics and a system which would replace the surplus condensers and maintain the indoor units and the existing pipe work, as was the wish of the residents. Over a period of just two weeks, 11 external condensers were craned onto the roof and the redundant condensers were safely disposed of.
The system devised by CCP HVAC was a new R410a, which is fully compliant with government regulations. The new air-conditioning units are fully operational and working extremely well, with all the residents happy with the outcome.
Angie Wright-Castlereagh Managing Director, Castlereagh Properties Says,
Our approach to property management is very hands-on and pro-active, and we expect a similar attitude from our contractors. CCP HVAC understands this, and has an excellent rapport with our clients, even when working under considerable pressure. In 2012 we need to replace and update an air-conditioning unit in 32 prestigious apartments to fit in-line with new R22 regulations. I think the work they have done for us is brilliant!
